Bel Powley looked chic in a mint-colored suit at the Lupito Nyong’o dinner hosted by Vanity Fair and Tiffany & Co. at the Shangri-Law Hotel in Toronto, Canada, at the Toronto International Film Festival.
Powley hit the red carpet for the fete in a mint green cotton crepe suit that featured pink and purple floral embroidery from the Roberto Cavalli Resort 2017 collection. Styled by Cher Coulter, Powley completed her look with Mary Jane shoes, a gold metal clutch that was also from the Roberto Cavalli collection, and Tiffany jewels.
Jenna Kristina did Powley’s makeup for the private dinner celebrating Legendary Style, and Bobby Elliot did her hair.
Powley captioned a picture of herself from inside the TIFF event, “??? hey #tiff16 thanks for your double denim, your maple syrup, your waterfalls and your great movies ???.”
Powley was at TIFF to promote her new movie Carrie Pilby, in which she stars as the titular character – a young genius, who graduates from Harvard at the age of 18 and lands in New York City, where she struggles to mask her contempt for those she deems less intelligent and worldly.
“There’s a risk of making Carrie quite annoying, because she does kind of look down on people, and she can be quite be quite precocious. And she does have incredibly strong opinions,” Powley told The Hollywood Reporter. “I think for me, it was the challenge of making her a likable character and not just an annoying person.”
