'The Director': James Franco Produced Documentary On Gucci's Frida Giannini

James Franco is the producer behind The Director, a documentary helmed by director Christina Voros that tells the story of Gucci, under the creative influence of Frida Giannini. It premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival on Sunday, April 21.

Covering 18 months, The Director offers a detailed portrait of Gucci Creative Director Giannini. Going inside the Italian fashion house and discovering the work that goes into the brand's models, designs and shows inspired by the woman in charge, this film offers fashion fans a behind the scenes look into Gucci with Giannini as a tour guide.

While Franco's main connection with the documentary is in his role as the producer, he also appears in the picture. He's featured in the latest trailer getting ready for an ad campaign he shot for Gucci.
