Jason Reitman will host a live reading of The Princess Bride at the Toronto International Film Festival.

Celebrity Live-Reading Of The Princess Bride

Reitman, director of Up in the Air, frequently organizes and directs star-studded live readings of famous scripts. For the past two years, Reitman has organized live readings at TIFF — Boogie Nights in 2013 and American Beauty in 2014. This year Reitman will host a reading of The Princess Bride in honor of the film’s 1987 premiere at the festival. No cast has been announced, but given the large Hollywood presence at TIFF, it’s sure to be quite the event.

The Princess Bride premiered at the festival in 1987 and has captured audiences’ imaginations ever since. To have this title return on the occasion of our 40th festival, and be re-explored by a contemporary cast, is pure magic,” said TIFF’s artistic director Cameron Bailey.

The live-read event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 12, and fans can expect casting announcements to come as the date approaches.
