Bill Murray will be celebrated by TIFF leading up to the premiere of his newest film, St. Vincent, with an official Bill Murray Day on Friday, Sept. 5.
In celebration of the comedic actor, TIFF will host back-to-back screenings of three of his classic films – Stripes, Groundhog Day and Ghostbusters – starting at 10 a.m. The films will be followed by a Q&A session, which the festival teases may feature some special guests. Tickets to the free screenings will be available starting Sept. 5 at 8 a.m. at the Lightbox.
Bill Murray Day will culminate with the world premiere of St. Vincent, Murray’s newest film co-starring Melissa McCarthy. Murray fans can also win tickets to the premiere by entering TIFF’s Bill Murray Costume Contest. Up to 50 lucky fans, who attend one of the three Bill Murray Day screenings dressed up as one of Bill Murray’s characters, will win tickets to the St. Vincent screening.
