Jennifer Lawrence Trips Up Stairs On Way To Receive Best Actress Oscar

Jennifer Lawrence fell down after tripping on her dress on her way up to the stage to accept the Best Actress Oscar for her turn in Silver Linings Playbook.

Outfitted in a Dior gown, Lawrence quickly recovered and continued her ascent to the podium. "You guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell and that's really embarrassing but thank you," Lawrence said, referencing the standing ovation she was receiving. "This is nuts!"

Backstage, Lawrence answered to reporters who were curious as to what caused her to stumble on the steps. "What do you mean what happened? Look at my dress," she said. "I tried to walk up stairs in this dress. That's what happened. I don't actually — I think I just stepped on the fabric and they waxed the stairs."

Not one to shy away from candor, Lawrence opened up about what was going through her mind when she felt herself trip. “A bad word that I can’t say that starts with ‘F’,” she admitted.
