On February 24, charities nationwide will be celebrating the Academy Awards by hosting official Oscar parties and raising money via the Oscars Experience: Benefits program. The parties will feature a live broadcast of the 2013 Oscars, as well as “pick-the-winner” contests and a variety of other award ceremony-related activities. Charities will also receive official show programs and commemorative event posters.

"The Oscar Experience: Benefits is a natural extension of the philanthropic work the Academy does year-round," said Academy CEO Dawn Hudson in a press release. "We are thrilled to share a part of the Oscar experience with movie fans nationwide while supporting charities across the country."

Since 1994, the Academy has helped charities raise over $30 million for their causes.
