Episode 8 begins with Healy (Michael Harney) telling Miss Rosa (Barbara Rosenblat) that the DOC will not cover the surgery she needs; she is forced to continue chemotherapy treatment instead, convincing her she will die soon. This episode concentrates on the bank-robbing, money-loving Rosa. The first flashback is Rosa’s first bank robbery and she is nervous as her boyfriend, Marco (Alfredo De Quesada), hands her a gun that she later finds out is not loaded. The two kiss and Marco tells her they must always kiss before and after a robbery. After they rob the bank with two other guys and hop into the getaway car, the group sees that Marco has been shot and he dies in Rosa’s arms shortly after. Rosa’s love of money increases after every robbery. After robbing another bank, Rosa kisses one of the other men, who has a heart attack and dies shortly after their post-robbery kiss. Tony and Rosa are the only two left in the group and go on heists together. After stealing $50,000 from one bank, Rosa forces Tony to let her out of the car to rob another bank, where she is finally caught and arrested. Tony visits a young Rosa in prison and she tells him how much she misses the money.

While getting her chemo, Rosa tells the boy she befriended about her life of crime and, together, they plot a heist, though with less grandeur than Rosa’s bank robberies. Rosa and the boy love to spend time together and in their last chemo session together, before the boy finds out he’s in remission, the two steal a nurse’s wallet. Rosa fills with joy at the realization that her company didn’t cause the boy to die, like it did with the men in her past. Rosa fears dying of cancer, saying, “I always pictured myself going out in a blaze of glory… Gun fire, screeching tires…”

Almost every inmate at Litchfield is jealous of Piper (Taylor Schilling) after she receives furlough from Healy to go see her dying grandmother. The women turn it into a racial issue, saying Piper only got it because of her skin color. Poussey (Samira Wiley) tells Piper that she didn’t even get furlough when her mother was dying. Unfortunately, Piper’s grandmother dies before she has a chance to see her, causing her great despair.

Caputo (Nick Sandow) fires Fischer (Lauren Lapkus) for speaking up to him about the officer’s concerns about the new rules because she feels they will be detrimental to the trust between inmates and guards. Caputo and the warden discuss finding a new officer to replace Fischer and the warden says she already has someone in mind. As the episode closes, Mendez (Pablo Schreiber), also known as “Pornstache,” walks back in to Litchfield as an officer once again.
