John Legend and Common will perform “Glory,” their song for the Best Picture nominee Selma, at the Oscars in February.

John Legend And Common Announce Oscar Performance

“Common and John Legend are artists who have always lifted our spirits and made us think. The Oscar stage is that much more profound because of their presence and we welcome them,” said Oscar producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.

Common and Legend will perform the song at the 87th Academy Awards, where they are nominated for Best Original Song as songwriters of “Glory.” The duo wrote and recorded the track in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., the subject of Selma.

Legend and Common, who also co-stars in the film as James Bevel, recently took home the award for Best Original Song at the Golden Globes and are widely expected to take home the Oscar.

Also up for Best Original Song are “Everything Is Awesome” (The Lego Movie), “Grateful” (Beyond the Lights), “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” (Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me) and “Lost Stars” (Begin Again). In addition to Legend and Common, singer Adam Levine has been confirmed to perform “Lost Stars” at the award show.

The Oscars hosted by Neil Patrick Harris will take place Sunday, Feb. 22, and broadcast live at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT on ABC.
