Adam Levine will perform “Lost Stars” from Begin Again at the Oscars in February, where the song is up for the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Levine, who co-starred in the film alongside Keira Knightley and Mark Ruffalo, played Dave, an aspiring musician, in the film. “Lost Stars,” written by Gregg Alexander and Danielle Brisebois is sung by both Levine and Knightley in the film, but it seems only Levine will be performing on the Oscars stage.
“Adam Levine is an exceptional and dynamic artist. We’re thrilled to have him make his Oscars stage debut this year,” said show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
Levine seemed equally excited at the prospect of performing for the Oscars, tweeting out his excitement.
“Lost Stars” will be competing with “Everything Is Awesome” from The Lego Movie, “Glory” from Selma, “Grateful” from Beyond the Lights and “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” from Glen Campbell…I’ll Be Me. No other performers have been announced.
The 87th Oscars will take place Sunday, Feb. 22, and broadcast live at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT on ABC.
