Amy Poehler And Tina Fey Add To The 2013 Golden Globes Drinking Game

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey updated the Golden Globes drinking game for this year’s show in a recent interview, adding an extreme new rule in honor of award darling Breaking Bad.

Before Poehler and Fey made their Golden Globe Awards hosting debut in 2013, they created a drinking game for the show. (The Golden Globes is known for being the most inebriated award show of the season, as attendees are served dinner and alcohol.) The rules then were simple:

Drink when an actress cries during a speech.
Drink when you see someone in the audience not paying attention to whoever is onstage.
Drink when someone says, “I didn’t prepare anything!”
Take off one item of clothing every time the show cuts to Judi Dench and every time Maggie Smith takes home an award.
Finally, eat a meatball sub when someone thanks Harvey Weinstein.

In preparation for their second go-round as hosts, Fey and Poehler took the time to add to the drinking game in a recent interview.

“Any time you see a gown with sleeves, you’re going to drink. Any time they cut to Tom Hanks for a reaction shot, do five push-ups and you will be ripped by the end of the ceremony,” said Fey.

Poehler’s addendum was slightly more extreme:

“How about this for a drinking game? Every time I drink, everybody at home should drink. And if Bryan Cranston speaks, everybody has to do a little bit of meth. Just a touch, because that’s all you need, just a touch,” Poehler joked.

Poehler and Fey drank on stage at the 2013 awards after they lost in the Best Actress in a Television Series – Comedy to Lena Dunham and performed a bit with a very “drunk” Glenn Close.

If last year is any indication, viewers can expect some drinking on stage, whether celebratory or not.
