Olivia Palermo, Nicky Hilton and Cory Kennedy gathered on the front row of New York Fashion Week's catwalk to watch Shaikha Noor Al Khalifa and Shaikha Haya Al Khalifa's Spring 2013 collection, Noon by Noor. With an international presence spanning Bahrain to Los Angeles, Noor has increasingly become popular among select customers thanks to its timeless style with an exotic edge — and is presently the first Gulf-based fashion label to take part in Fashion Week.“This is a really proud moment for us and we feel honored to be showcasing alongside such amazing designers," designer Noor told Al Arabiya. "It is an incredible opportunity to present our vision and hard work to the fashion industry." Noor's Spring/Summer 2013 collection is inspired by the African sunset, with pops of neon and tribal influences informing their designs.
Noor made its New York Fashion Week debut this past February, when it presented its Fall/Winter 2013 collection before guests like Blake Lively (pictured above), Maria Menounos and Joe Zee. The designer duo say it is their fusion of Eastern and Western aesthetics that distinguishes them from other labels — but it's also their shared creative differences that make their style so unique. “We’re not only cousins, we have been best friends since childhood; so naturally we never let disagreements get in the way of making a magnificent team. We know exactly how to get around them,” Noor said. “Interestingly enough, our design styles are almost the exact opposite of one another. The secret to our success is our ability to harmoniously blend these designs into one concept."
