Models Take A Tumble At London Fashion Week

Something was on the verge of falling down in London this week, and it wasn't the bridge. During London's four-day fashion week, a few models suffered from some noteworthy mishaps and almost landed flat on the runway.

The first would-be tumble happened Monday at Mark Fast's show. Nude, orange, yellow and black served as the color palettes for the Canadian designer's spring/summer 2012 collection of knit babydoll dresses, bathing suits and evening wear. Models stomped down the runway with smoky eyes, Roxie Hart-esque hairstyles and all-knit ensembles. One model, though, had a high-heel mishap when her slim-fitting, nude, knit gown got caught in her strappy sandals.

The next day, at Amanda Wakeley's Slim Keith-inspired show, a svelte walker's leather peep-toe heel got caught in a flowy, black grown. The dress had a high empire waist, cropped embellished bodice and front center split, which seemed to be the cause of the model's stagger. Luckily, the model was able to regain her balance after not one, but two trips. Wakeley's show at last year's London Fashion Week (pictured here), seemingly went on without the same stumbles.

Other collections that showed during London's annual fashion extravaganza included Vivienne Westwood Red Label, Burberry, Matthew Williamson and Temperley London. The next fashion week stop is Milan, which started Wednesday with Gucci, and will show Fendi, D&G, Prada, Moschino and Versace through this weekend.
