Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice debuted a new full-length trailer at Comic-Con, giving fans a first look at Wonder Woman in action.
Batman V Superman stars Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ben Affleck, Jesse Eisemberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter and Amy Adams were all in attendance at the massive Warner Bros panel on Saturday, alongside Man of Steel director Zack Snyder. Unlike last year, when Affleck, Cavill and Gadot appeared briefly to wave hello, this time the cast sat down and dished a little bit more about the film.
Of course, the cast remained pretty tight lipped when it came to the plot of Batman v Superman, particularly how Gadot’s Wonder Woman fits in. Gadot did reveal how honored she was to play one of the only female superheroes to make it to the big screen, telling the audience, “I have been given a huge opportunity to show such a strong, beautiful side of women. I feel a privilege to bring her to life.”
Wonder Woman was, arguably, the biggest draw of the panel, as fans got to see the very first footage of Gadot in action in the new Comic-Con trailer. Gadot was featured in the trailer multiple times, both in Wonder Woman costume and in civilian clothing, suggesting her role might be more significant than a few appearances here and there. The trailer also featured more of Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor, as well as Irons’ Alfred and Hunter’s Senator.
Gadot later appeared at Entertainment Weekly’s “Women Who Kick Ass” panel where she spoke about what it was like to see her Wonder Woman costume for the first time. “We got into another room and I saw the costume for the first time. And we had a fitting, and it was an out-of-body experience – there I was, little Gal from Israel becoming Wonder Woman. I think it really represents the Wonder Woman of today, I’m very grateful to be the one who is going to bring her to life,” she said.
