‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ To Host Panel And Debut New Toys At Comic-Con

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will take over San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H on Friday, July 10.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Panel At Comic-Con

The newest Star Wars film will host a panel at Comic-Con, and, while director J.J. Abrams, writer Lawrence Kasdan and Lucasfilm president and producer Kathleen Kennedy are confirmed to attend the panel, none of the new, or returning, cast members have been announced for the event. However, the panel is teasing the presence of a few “special guests.”

Star Wars has always had a strong presence at Comic-Con, but the stars of the films have rarely appeared at the fan convention. In 2010, Harrison Ford made his first Comic-Con appearance to promote Cowboys & Aliens and returned in 2013 for Ender’s Game. Hopefully, the panel will look something like the Star Wars: The Force Awakens event that took place in April, which featured appearances by robots BB8 and R2D2 as well as new cast members John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Daisy Ridley.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Stormtrooper Figures

Star Wars: The Force Awakens will also take advantage of SDCC to release the first wave of new Star Wars toys and action figures. Fans attending the convention in San Diego will be given the opportunity to get a first look at First Order Stormtroopers toys, including a 9-inch Lego figure, a limited edition HASBRO figure and a Stormtrooper-themed Hot Wheels car.
