Top 10 Animation Panels At Comic-Con

While Comic-Con will have more than enough animation to satisfy even the most enthusiastic fan, a few special TV panels stand out as some of the most anticipated animated series panels of the year, including a special sneak peek at the upcoming Family Guy/The Simpsons crossover episode and more.

Toy Story That Time Forgot
Toy Story is heading to Comic-Con with an exclusive first look at Toy Story That Time Forgot, a new holiday special. Executive producer Galyn Susman (Toy Story OF TERROR!), director Steve Prucell (Brave) and head of story Derek Thompson (Wall-E) will also show off exclusive sketches and storyboards and give behind the scenes scoop on the newest Toy Story adventure. Certainly a must see for any self-respecting Toy Story fanatic.

Comedy Central: Key & Peele and Introducting Moonbeam City!
Comedians Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele will take the stage with director and producer Peter Atencio to dish on their new season, but the network’s new animated series Moonbeam City will be the main draw for animation lovers.

Comedy Central will premiere a first look at Moonbeam City, described as “an absurdist take on the gritty, sex-drenched crime dramas from the 1980s.” Series creator Scott Gairdner and star Rob Lowe will be on hand to discuss the new show.

Thursday, July 24, 1:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Indigo Ballroom

The Heroes of Star Wars Rebels
Before Star Wars: Episode VII hits theaters, fans can enjoy Star Wars Rebels, a new animated series from Lucasfilm Animation that will take place between Episode III and Episode IV. Stars Freddie Prinze, Jr., Vanessa Marshall, Steve Blum, Tiya Sircar and Taylor Gray, will preview the new series with executive producers Dave Filoni and Simon Kinberg.

Thursday, July 24, 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Room 6BCF

Cartoon Network: Adventure Time
The morning after the Adventure Time ball comes the official Adventure Time panel. Castmembers Jeremy Shada (Finn), John DiMaggio (Jake), Tom Kenny (Ice King) are set to attend and premiere exclusive footage. The panel also teases some surprise guests.

Friday, July 25, 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Indigo Ballroom

Hasbro Studios: My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic and My Little Pony Equestria Girls
Fans of My Little Pony, or ‘bronies’, will get a front seat to a special sneak peek at the My Little Pony Equestria Girls Rainbow Rock movie followed by a special Q&A with select voice actors and Hasbro Studios personnel.

Gravity Falls
Disney Channel’s hit show Gravity Falls creator and executive producer Alex Hirsh will sit on a panel with stars Kristen Schaal (Mabel), Jason Ritter (Dipper) and Thurop Van Orman (L’il Gideon). The group will discuss what’s next for the show and premiere exclusive footage from the upcoming season, followed by a Q&A.

[adult swim]: Robot Chicken
Robot Chicken returns to Comic-Con with a discussion from co-creators and executive producers Seth Green and Matthew Senreich, co-head writer Tom Root, writer/director Zeb Wells and actor and writer Brecklin Meyer. The creative team behind Robot Chicken will dish on the show and tease the upcoming Bitch Pudding Special.

The Simpsons
The Simpsons creator Matt Groenig, executive producer Al Jean, supervising director Mike Anderson and director David Silverman will appear at the panel celebrating the show’s 25th anniversary. Fans can expect to hear the creative minds behind The Simpsons talk about Treehouse of Horror, Simpsorama and past and future episodes. While FOX has been careful not to leak too many details out to the press, it’s safe to assume that there will be a few surprise guests or exclusive sneak peeks at the event.

Saturday, July 26, 10: 00 a.m. – 10:45 a.m., Ballroom 20

Nickelodeon: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – Booyakasha!
Fans of Nickelodeon’s animated series will get behind-the-scenes info from executive producers Ciro Nieli and Brandon Auman and hear from actors Sean Astin (Raphael), Rob Paulsen (Donatello), Greg Cipes (Michelangelo), Seth Green (Leonardo), Josh Peck (Casey Jones) and Kelly Hu (Karai).

Saturday, July 26, 11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m., Room 6A

Family Guy
Fox will give fans an exclusive sneak peek at the Family Guy/The Simpsons crossover episode, “The Simpsons Guy,” and hear about Family Guy’s upcoming 13th season with Seth Green, Mike Henry and executive producers Rich Appel, Steve Callaghan, Danny Smith and Peter Shin. Family Guy’s panel also teases some surprise guests.
