'The Walking Dead' Premieres New Season 5 Trailer At Comic-Con

The Walking Dead premiered the first trailer for season 5 and announced that the hit show’s newest season will premiere Sunday, Oct. 12, at 9 p.m. on AMC.

One other big announcement concerning the upcoming season: executive producer Dave Alpert officially confirmed that Seth Gilliam (The Wire, Teen Wolf) would be joining the cast to play Father Gabriel Stokes. Despite the exciting casting news, the main reveal of the Comic-Con panel was the first, full-length, season 5 trailer.

The trailer makes the season’s main goal clear: “When we get to Washington, we will make the dead die and the living will have this world again.”

Showrunner Scott Gimple promised the crowd at Comic-Con that this season would explore the story of Terminus, the gang that kidnaped most of The Walking Dead’s beloved team of zombie killers.

“Once they lost the prison, all bets were off…They did find out that you can’t come back from the things that you’ve done…. This season is going to define these characters. … We’re going to see the story of Terminus. We’re going to see how it happened,” Gimple said.
