'Almost Human' Pilot Well Received

Almost Human, the new sci-fi show from executive producer J.J. Abrams premiering this fall, premiered last night at Comic-Con during the special preview evening. Almost Human, from creator J. H. Wyman of Fringe, is a futuristic cop drama about a disenchanted cop, John Kennex (Karl Urban) who is partnered with a robot, Dorian (Michael Ealy) that is programmed to have human emotions.

The sci-fi show, set to premiere Nov. 4 on Fox, was well received by the Comic-Con audience, according to EW. And intrigued fans will get the chance to learn more about the show during its official panel 4 P.M. – 5 P.M. in Ballroom 20.

The pilot will be screened again as part of the panel, followed by a Q&A with stars and producers – some stars that might show up, other than Urban and Ealy, include Lili Taylor and Minka Kelly.

Earlier this month, Ealy expressed his excitement at the prospect of presenting the show at Comic-Con, but says he looks forward to returning to the convention next year.

“I’m excited about Comic-Con… It feels weird because we don’t even have a following yet for the show. It works on paper. We’ve just got to sustain it, from week to week. I look forward to Comic-Con 2014, when we’ve gotten that first season and people come dressed as Dorian,” Ealy told Collider.
