Thursday’s new episode of Grey’s Anatomy saw another character leaving the show permanently. Jackson Avery, played by Jesse Williams, joined the show in season 6 and said goodbye to the cast on the last episode aired Thursday night.
The character decides to move away to Boston with April, played by Sarah Drew, to raise their daughter there and to run the Harper Avery Foundation.
Jackson tells Bailey (Chandra Wilson) that he will be resigning. He says goodbye to Jo (Camilla Luddington) and shares the news with Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), which makes her realize she’s the last person there from their residency class.
The last scene shows Jackson driving by the hospital for the last time, a montage of all the memories he made and him driving off to Boston.
