Zelda Williams Celebrates Her Dad Robin Williams Birthday By Donating $69.69 To Charities

Robin Williams’ daughter Zelda Williams celebrated her father’s birthday when he would have turned 69 in a humorous way. Zelda decided to donate $69.69 to various charities.

She wrote on Twitter, “Today would’ve been Dad’s 69th birthday, so to honor him (& that glorious number), I will be donating $69.69 to as many local homeless shelters as I can. Join me if you like, but regardless, know I am wishing you all at least one hearty, immature belly laugh on Dad today.”

She later said, “Welp, got the ‘suspicious activity’ email, so gonna have to slow down on 69s and go talk to a robot for a bit Gonna go back to being off socials for awhile (as I do yearly), but thanks for joining me in honoring Dad (and the number 69) today! … it was ‘nice’.”

Zelda donated to a variety of organizations including ones that support LGBTQ+ causes and those who are experiencing homelessness, such as Los Angeles LGBT Center, Midnight Mission and PATH.

Zelda inspired other fans of Robin to donate to charities in the same amount. Zelda gave an update to her followers that revealed the news, “Wanted to pop back to say I’ve gotten a ton of these. Charities are receiving $69.69 all over the world! The ripples of good you all spread is helping SO MANY! It’s more than just a ‘nice’ gesture… you’ve spread kindness like Dad spread laughter, & I am forever grateful.”

She added, “I cannot express to you how deeply this would’ve touched Dad. He loved the homeless, spent much of his life trying to help them, to uplift them, to have them be treated with dignity instead of disdain. Thank you for doing so in his name. Thank you, for keeping his kindness alive.”

Robin died in 2014 and was also known for supporting various charities such as St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital. Robin co–founded Comic Relief USA and used it to help Christchurch, New Zealand, after an earthquake in 2010 earthquake.

In March, Zelda posted a photo of her and father. She wrote, “Isolation spring deep cleaning is turning up some fun old gems.”
