Zach Bryan’s Ex, Brianna ‘Chickenfry,’ Says Singer Was ‘Emotionally Abusive,’ Controlled Her Wardrobe & Social Media

In a new episode of the BFFs podcast television personality Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia shared details from her toxic relationship with Zach Bryan.

LaPaglia and Bryan went public with their relationship in July 2023 and announced their breakup in October.

Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, harshly critiqued Bryan along with Barstool personality Josh Richards, giving LaPaglia a platform to address her romance with the singer.

Looking back on the pair’s romance, LaPaglia remembered the lengths Bryan would go to influence her social media presence. A particularly notable instance was when on the night of the Golden Globes, LaPaglia sent Bryan pictures of the dress.

“He’s like happy in the beginning then all of a sudden, it turns to, ‘I can’t believe you’re wearing this…blah blah blah blah.’”

She went on, “That was f—ing crazy. That was the first time he had really tried to control what I wore and what I posted. I went to the Golden Globes and I posted like a carousel of pictures. He didn’t like my dress. He tells me all the Instagram pictures that I have that I have to delete, and I’m like, ‘OK, yeah, I guess.’ He makes me believe that I have to change my image to keep up with his or something.”

“He said he didn’t want to date someone that presents themselves that way. And he unfollowed me, he unfollowed everyone…I flew home after the Golden Globes. He ruined my night.”

To top off her upsetting experience at the Golden Globes, LaPaglia shared that Bryan, “reposted that picture of me on his story and was like, ‘You are so beautiful.’ While freaking out behind the scenes and unfollowing all of us, and unfollowing me. It was just such a tug of war with my emotions in my head.”

She explained, “Everything good, anything good I did for me, he made sure to ruin it for me. He ruined my birthday, he ruined by tour, he ruined the Golden Globes. Anything Brianna did for Brianna, he had to ruin it.”

LaPaglia also revealed that when they broke up, Bryan wanted her to sign a $12 million NDA that restricted her from talking about their relationship in any manner. LaPaglia declared that she refused the NDA, even though Bryan had imposed NDAs on many girlfriends before her.

She said, “It was never about the money. I was with the dude because I loved the dude…Everything glamorous, rich or f—ing cool about him was the s— I hated about him or I hated being with him for.”
