That Awkward Moment stars Zac Efron, Michael B. Jordan and Miles Teller as three twentysomethings awkwardly experiencing their love lives in Manhattan.

According to the stars of the movie, That Awkward Moment is not just another romantic comedy because of the very real chemistry that makes its way onscreen. Efron, Jordan and Teller are all best friends in real life.

“I know these guys, my best friends in the world I share things with that I can’t share with other people,” Efron told Uinterview exclusively. “They teach me things, and I learn from them that nobody else could have taught me. They’re intelligent they’re funny, they’re charismatic, they’re nerds. We have a bond.”

Some of the bonding between the trio occurred while filming That Awkward Moment in New York. “We stayed in the same hotel. We pretty much ate breakfast, lunch and dinner together every day, so we got up in the city, and the city provides itself to you,” Teller told Uinterview exclusively. “And we were all single, just having a good time.”

As single guys in the city, having a good wingman – or a pair of wingmen – is a must. “Somebody’s got to spot her and somebody has to be like the person to attack,” Jordan explained. “You know, then you have the mark then you have the guy who’s the hero.” Teller agreed, and revealed that Jordan has the best luck with the ladies.

Do the costars and wingmen have awkward moments amongst themselves? Apparently not, but when they do they’re cause for laughter. “Between us three there are no awkward moments. We know each other too well,” said Efron. “In fact, we relish the awkward moments because they’re funny.”

That Awkward Moment is currently in wide release.
