They say high school doesn't last forever. That seems to be the case for young lovebirds, Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, who have decided to go their separate ways. The duo started dating in 2006 after starring together in the hit movie, High School Musical.
Hudgens, who turns 22 today, opened up earlier this year about Efron. "Right off the bat," she told Glamour, the two "had a connection" that was apparent to everyone around them. "I think that we inspire each other," she said.
Efron, 23, has also recently gushed about his now-ex, claiming that he's a one-woman type of guy. When asked if he was interested in playing the field, he told Details magazine, "I think a lot of guys would enjoy that. But I'm not really like that."
It seems that the two had an amicable enough split. "They are still talking and still friends," a source told UsMagazine.com. "There's no drama. No one cheated. They just grew up." —KIMBERLY STEELE
