YouTuber Grant Thompson, Known As 'The King of Random,' Dies At 38 In Paragliding Accident
Grant Thompson, the YouTuber who created “King of Random” persona, died Monday after a paragliding accident in Utah.
Thompson’s body was recovered early Tuesday morning in St. George, Utah after the YouTuber’s family filed a missing person’s report Monday night when he didn’t return from the trip, according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Thanks to a GPS locator Thompson had in his possession, officials were able to quickly locate his body.
“It is with great sadness to inform everyone that Grant Thompson passed away last night,” a statement read on the star’s Instagram. “Grant’s legacy will live on in the channel and the global community he created.”
The channel Thompson created has 11 million subscribers. He posted experimental videos and footage of various projects. His most popular video, “How to make LEGO Gummy Candy!” has over 26 million views.
