YouTube star Jake Paul’s California home was raided Wednesday by the FBI as part of an investigation of “allegations of criminal acts” surrounding the Arizona mall incident in May. Federal agents removed several objects resembling firearms from Paul’s home during the raid.
A home owned by Paul’s friend, Arman Izadi, in Las Vegas, Nevada, was also raided yesterday in connection with the investigation.
Paul was not at home during the time of the raid and has yet to comment on the search. Paul’s house is also the in-and-out home to members of his YouTube collective, Team 10.
The FBI has now taken over the investigation involving the May incident at the Scottsdale Fashion Square mall in Scottsdale, Arizona. In June, Scottsdale police filed misdemeanor charges against Paul, Izadi and a third person for their involvement. These charges have now been dismissed so “a federal criminal investigation can be completed.” The police department said it is coordinating with the FBI to “ensure that justice is served.”
Paul’s attorney, Richard Schonfeld told TMZ after the search, “We are still gathering information and will cooperate with the investigation.”
Paul was also recently criticized by the mayor of Calabasas, California where he resides, for throwing a large party during the coronavirus pandemic.
