BERLIN, GERMANY - AUGUST 29: Robert F. Kennedy Jr., nephew of former U.S. President John F. Kennedy, speaks to people from a wide spectrum, including coronavirus skeptics, conspiracy enthusiasts, right-wing extremists, religious conservatives, hippies and others gathered under the Victory Column in the city center to hear speeches during a protest against coronavirus-related restrictions and government policy on August 29, 2020 in Berlin, Germany. City authorities had banned the planned protest, citing the flouting of social distancing by participants in a similar march that drew at least 17,000 people a few weeks ago, but a court overturned the ban. YouTube took down a video of an interview that featured Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who made claims that there are chemicals in our water that are turning children transgender.
YouTube stated that they took down the video of the Jordan Peterson podcast because it violated their terms of service about vaccine misinformation.
Kennedy and Peterson tweeted about their interview being taken down. They also shared the video so that viewers can watch it on Twitter.
Kennedy is currently a presidential candidate in the Democratic primary. He has spoken about his views on vaccinations many times in different podcasts.
“What do you think … Should social media platforms censor presidential candidates? My conversation with @JordanBPeterson was deleted by @YouTube. Luckily you can watch it here on @Twitter (thank you @elonmusk). #Kennedy24,” Kennedy tweeted.
Peterson added to Kennedy’s tweet saying, “Now @YouTube has taken upon itself to actively interfere with a presidential election campaign @RobertKennedyJr. “
Both men are accusing YouTube of interfering with this presidential campaign and censorship.
Kennedy continued to tweet about the incident adding, “Maybe you can help me figure out what “misinformation” was in this interview. #letRFKspeak,” and, “It may be that @YouTube has broken no laws in this blatant interference in the electoral process. In that case, change will come only through public pressure. That’s democracy in action!”
In a related story, Dr. Peter Hotez, who is a vaccine scientist, claims that podcaster Joe Rogan accosted him when he was outside his home due to a Twitter exchange.
Michael Shermer, who is a science writer, tweeted, “Dear @PeterHotez I encourage you to debate @RobertKennedyJr on @joerogan on vaccines, autism, Covid, cell phones & cancer & all the rest. I did a 3.5 hour debate on Joe’s show—he’s a stand-up guy & will absolutely be fair & give you the time you need. Podcasts are the new media center. Why would you pass up $100,000 & tens of millions of viewers? Do it.” Hotez retweeted this post, seemingly agreeing to the idea.
Hotez said he would join Rogan on his podcast, but he is not interested in debating Kennedy.
Rogan has had Hotez on his podcast before to discuss Hotez’s pro-vaccine views.
