YouTube Deletes Four Alex Jones Videos Because Of Hate Speech

YouTube has deleted four videos containing hate speech uploaded by InfoWars founder Alex Jones and issued a strike against him.

SLIDESHOW: SPORTS FIGURES WHO DIED IN 2017

The streaming video site operates on a three-strike system. This first strike means that Jones cannot livestream content for three months. If he receives a second strike within that period, he cannot upload new content for two weeks. And if he receives a third strike within those two weeks, his account will be deleted.

The hate speech in the videos was directed towards Muslims. One featured the headline, “How to prevent liberalism.”

In a statement to CNNMoney, YouTube said, “We have long standing policies against child endangerment and hate speech. We apply our policies consistently according to the content in the videos, regardless of the speaker or the channel.”

SLIDESHOW: Met Gala 2018 – 23 Best Dressed Stars

Jones is known for peddling conspiracy theories, including the claim that the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting was a hoax. YouTube had previously issued a strike against him in February when he claimed that Parkland school shooting David Hogg was a crisis actor.
