Before he was an A-list actor and heartthrob, Ryan Gosling was just a regular kid who enjoyed dancing and singing in talent shows, as evidenced by this 1991 video.

The video, originally posted on YouTube in 2012, is of children’s talent show from 1991, in which Gosling performed with his sister, Mandi. Gosling opens the video singing “When A Man Loves A Woman” before breaking out into a dance routine, showing off his smooth moves and fashionable MC Hammer pants.

The video has re-emerged into pop culture after a Canadian producer tweeted a link to it to Gosling and Gosling responded, joking, “Obviously I peaked early.”

Just a few years later, Gosling joined The Mickey Mouse Club where he continued to show off his singing and dancing skills alongside Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake.
