WWE’s Chyna In Talks To Appear On ‘Intervention’ Ahead Of Her Death

Chyna, the former WWE star, was in early talks to appear on A&E’s Intervention docu-series ahead of her untimely death last week.

Chyna On ‘Intervention’

After Chyna was found dead at age 45 at her Los Angeles home last Thursday, police reported that her death was the result of a possible overdose. Though the Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office won’t rule on an official cause of death until the toxicology results are available, Chyna’s manager Anthony Anzaldo admits that it is more than possible that she had accidentally over-medicated.

Anzaldo was apparently concerned enough to seek an intervention for Chyna. “Once I noticed she was over medicating I knew it was out of my hands. There was no other way than to do an intervention,” Anzaldo told E! News. “We were in the process. They [Intervention] were just going to be an extension of the documentary.”

“I reached out the Intervention [team] because they offered the opportunity to put a professional intervention together in days instead of weeks,” Anzaldo added. “They offered the opportunity for us to get 3 months in a first class facility. Provide a professional interventionist. They provided the tools in the quickest amount of time…We were going to document an intervention anyway for our own documentary.”

Anzaldo revealed that Chyna was prescribed sleeping drug Ambien in addition to another legal substance, which were the drugs for which he was seeking an intervention for her. While Anzaldo further acknowledged that Chyna had a tendency to abuse alcohol, that was her primary issue.

“Alcohol was a part of her life. She drank for fun. She would binge and she would go months without it. She would self medicate with alcohol when the meds weren’t enough,” he said, adding, “Her overdose was over the course of three weeks.”
