Soon after former WWE CEO Vince McMahon announced his retirement from the organization, the company revised its estimate of the total amount of hush money McMahon paid out to women to stop them from going public about McMahon’s affairs or misconduct.
It was first disclosed by WWE last month that McMahon paid out just under $15 million for “certain payments,” which should have been recorded as company expenses. After this disclosure and McMahon’s retirement announcement, the company has since located two more payments totaling $5 million per a Tuesday SEC filing.
They only noted that the payments were not what led to the initial misconduct investigation and that they were from 2007 and 2009. WWE didn’t share what the payments were for.
His daughter Stephanie McMahon and Nick Khan are now co-CEOs of the company, while Triple H assumed McMahon’s other former role of head of creative at WWE.
