WWE President Vince McMahon was served with a subpoena and search warrant last month. The WWE notified the public about the developments on Wednesday.
There is an ongoing investigation that started last summer of McMahon, who is being accused of paying women millions of dollars over several years after they accused him of sexual misconduct.
McMahon is currently on medical leave since July 21 until further notice after he had surgery on his spine.
WWE stated in a press release that they believe that the search warrant and subpoena are “a continuation of the investigation that commenced last summer. WWE has cooperated throughout and fully understands and respects the government’s need for a complete process.”
They are currently in the process of merging with their rival UFC to create a new company that will be controlled by the Endeavor Group. The deal is expected to close towards the second half of 2023.
In the past, McMahon has denied all the allegations against him. He owes WWE fees after already paying them $17.4 million in reimbursement costs.

In a statement he released on Wednesday, he said, “In 2022, WWE formed a special committee to review allegations of misconduct against me. That review was concluded in November 2022 following an extensive investigation. Throughout this experience, I have always denied any intentional wrongdoing and continue to do so. I am confident that the government’s investigation will be resolved without any findings of wrongdoing.”
“I am focused on completing the recovery process from my recent spinal surgery and on closing our transaction with Endeavor, which will create one of the preeminent global sports and entertainment brands,” he added.
