Wrestlemania 31, the wrestling event of the year, premiered on pay-per-view and the WWE Network Sunday night with a schedule jam-packed with exiting match-ups.
Last night, Seth Rollins was pitted against reigning WWE World heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. Back in April 2012, Rollins predicted he’d have the chance to win the title, tweeting, “I will main event #WrestleMania one day and we’ll change the world together.” What Rollins didn’t predict was that he’d take the title from Lesnar in a shocking match.
Another somewhat surprising result came from the the United States Championship match that saw Rusev – who’s been undefeated for roughly a year, lose to John Cena.
Making her WWE debut, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Rounda Rousey teamed up with The Rock to confront Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. After The Rock stepped out, Rousey dispatched Triple H and nearly snapped McMahon’s arm to end the match.
As for the Bella twins, they lost to AJ Lee and Paige when Nikki Bella was forced to surrender to the Black Widow. Also among the disappointed losers was Bray Wyatt who lost to the legendary The Undertaker despite having an early advantage.
