In a much anticipated event, original Wonder Woman Lynda Carter guest starred on the CW’s Supergirl as President Olivia Marsdin.
In “Welcome to Earth,” episode 3 of the show’s second season, Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) is forced to saved the president twice from an alien called Scorcher (Nadine Crocker). Marsdin is signing an executive order to allow all aliens living on Earth to live outside of the shadows as full citizens under the law. Scorcher is not ok with this, as she thinks it is a rouse to get all aliens to reveal themselves to humans, which would invite potential threat. At the end, however, it turns out that Marsdin herself is an alien, and her motives become even more unclear.
It seems that this will not be Carter’s only guest appearance in the CW series, though she has not been cast in any near-future episode that she knows of. “Fans better start pressuring them because I have not been (cast) in a subsequent episode,” the actress said. “I’m thinking, ‘Well, when are you going to advance this thing?’ Because I’m getting busy!”
“Honestly, I just can’t wait until they send me new script for which the POTUS is again on the Supergirl soundstage,” she continued. “I can’t wait to see what they have in store for her. I can’t wait to do the next episode.”
