Country singer Kenny Chesney has said he was “devastated,” to learn that a woman who suffered a fall at the end of his Denver concert died from her injuries on Saturday night.
According to the Denver Police, the woman had sat on an escalator railing as people were leaving the show and then fell down below. They suspect the death was accidental, and have not determined whether alcohol or being pushed were factors that contributed to the tragic fall.
“There had been so much joy, so much heart coming from the people of Denver last night,” Chesney said in a statement responding to the death. “Life is precious. Sharing music brings us together and that love we share makes us so much more. For the lady who came to share that love, there are no words.”
The identity and age of the victim were not disclosed by the police.
