Donatella Versace, 70, was recently spotted in an elegant black midi-dress while attending a Dior menswear show during Paris Fashion Week. The noted designer paired her ensemble with edgy, dark shades, a chic brown leather purse and a pair of chunky brown Versace heels, representing her family brand proudly.

Versace recently won raves for her dramatic “new face” she debuted earlier this year.

In March, Versace left her role as the head of the fashion giant founded by her brother, Gianni, amid issues between her and the company, which had acquired the label in 2018. Since Gianni died in 1997, Versace has held the role of the brand’s creative director, bringing decades of insight to many notable designs. Dario Vitale, the former design director of Miu Miu, will now assume the role.

Speaking about her resignation, Versace stated, “Championing the next generation of designers has always been important to me. It’s been the greatest honor of my life to carry on my brother Gianni’s legacy.”

Vitale also spoke about replacing Versace, saying, “I am truly honored to join Versace as the chief creative officer and to be a part of this special and powerful fashion luxury house created by Gianni and Donatella.”

Many of Versace’s notable designs have been credited to Donatella’s insight. She designed the iconic green Versace silk chiffon dress, which she wore to the 42nd Grammy Awards ceremony in 2000. Many fashion insiders have begun to believe that Versace now faces “an enormous risk” without her input.

In the last year alone, Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, Anne Hathaway and Lady Gaga have worn Versace’s designs.
