It’s not uncommon for big winners to seek financial advice before going public with their winning ticket. Therefore, it would be no surprise to lottery officials like Hedinger if the lucky ticket holder delays stepping forward for a few weeks. However, she did warn, “Sign that ticket immediately,” to whomever had the good fortune to purchase it.
Thirteen ticket holders who had the first five winning numbers received $1 million each. The winners hailed from Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Ohio, Minnesota, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, New York and New Jersey.
