Willie Nelson cut short a concert on Sunday night due to breathing problems.
The 84-year-old got into the early part of his set before he left the stage at the USANA Amphitheatre in Salt Lake City, Utah. Nelson has struggled with numerous health issues in the past few months, and as taken to a local hospital for assessment.
The singer took to Twitter to address what happened, and seems to think the high altitude was the culprit. “This is Willie I am sorry to have to cut the SLC show short tonight,” he said. “The altitude got to me I am feeling better now & headed for lower ground.”
Nelson’s publicist has not responded to requests for comments, as of Monday. The singer was recently forced to cancel a series of shows in Las Vegas because of what his publicist described as a bad cold. Nelson did not schedule makeup shows, and fans were told to seek refunds for tickets. Prior to that, he canceled three shows in California because of an undisclosed illness.
