With their 20th anniversary of being one of the most successful pop groups ever coming up next year, the Spice Girls are hinting of a reunion to celebrate the anniversary.

Spice Girls To Reunite

Talking on Alan Carr’s New Year’s Spectacular, singer Mel B, known as Scary Spice, was asked about the anniversary and if there were any reunion plans for the group. “I think I’m the one putting all the rumors out there,” Scary Spice said. “To be serious, it is our twentieth anniversary this year and it would be rude not to celebrate.” She also added that some sort of celebration could be in order, saying, “So hopefully something will be happening pretty soon… I can’t tell you what it is yet.”

The last time the Spice Girls reunited was during the closing ceremonies of the 2012 Olympic Games in London, where the popular girl group performed an array of their greatest hits. Earlier this fall, there was speculated rumors that the Spice Girls were going to join the Backstreet Boys for a joint tour in performing their respective greatest hits.

Emma Bunton, known as Baby Spice, stated in the past that nothing was firmed up yet with the Spice Girls. “Nothing’s happening at the moment,” she said. “If anything happens and it’s concrete, and we decide on something, I will let you know.” The eagerly awaited reunion will mark the anniversary of their 1996 smash hit “Wannabe.”
