Actor Will Smith punched presenter Chris Rock live during the Oscar telecast on Sunday night. Rock had just made a joke about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
Rock, who was presenting the Oscar for documentary feature, joked about Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head. “When is G.I. Jane 2 coming out?” Though most thought it was a joke at first, Smith yelled at Rock, “Keep my wife’s name out your fucking mouth!” after returning to his seat indicating that it was not.
Rock said after, “Will Smith just slapped the shit out of me!”
