The longest-running soap opera ever might be in danger of being canceled.

Days Of Our Lives has been running for 50 years, but social media wags have speculated about its end. Megyn Kelly‘s new daytime show might appear on the soap opera’s time slot, some are suggesting. Kelly has already confirmed that she is moving on from Fox News to a new network, NBC.

On NBC, Kelly will host her own daytime news and discussion program. Additionally, she will also be a Sunday night anchor and will participate in coverage of major events on the network.

Some wonder if Kelly will get a talk show in the 9 a.m. time slot. However, insiders claimed that giving Kelly the time slot that belongs to Days Of Our Lives is possible.

Additionally, a source connected to Days of Our Lives told People that several cast members have been told that this upcoming year of the series will likely be its last.

“Basically, we’ve heard that there won’t be a Days in 2018,” said the source associated with the show, which recently celebrated its 51st anniversary on the network.

Though the claims may come as a shock to some, the source said that NBC has been renewing the soap opera on a year-to-year basis for quite some time now. In addition, Days of Our Lives‘ ratings have dropped over the years.
