Wilds, the young man in Adele’s new music video for “Hello” is an actor and a musician from New York. Wilds made his acting debut in 2005 in the miniseries Miracle’s Boys. He played Michael Lee, a young drug dealer, in the hit HBO series The Wire, and later played the lead role in a CW remake of 90210. The young actor has also been in films such as Red Tails, The Secret Life of Bees and Half-Nelson.
Wilds has previously made appearances in other music videos with Jay Z and Alicia Keys. In fact, Jay Z and Wilds have a close connection. “He is like an uncle to me,” Wilds told Grio in 2012. “He came into my life when I was 17 or 18 and has been great to me. He is a man of little words, but he has the best one liners. Whenever you are going through something he has a great one liner to sum things up. He is like Yoda.”
Not only is Wilds an actor, but he is also a rapper, and was nominated for a Grammy for his 2013 album New York: A Love Story.
