Machine Gun Kelly‘s guitarist, Sophie Lloyd, has attracted a social media firestorm after fans claimed that she had played a role in his alleged split from fiancee Megan Fox.
Lloyd, a 27-year-old British metal musician, has grown close with MGK during his Mainstream Sellout tour last year.
“Sophie Lloyd is a professional, accomplished musician who has been needlessly dragged into the media based off meritless accusations made by social media,” said her management team in a statement. “Any suggestion that she has ever acted in an unprofessional manner or stepped out of her relationship are untrue. It’s disrespectful to her as a female artist and poor journalism and social commentary to be reporting anything else.”
Before joining MGK, she’s was already an accomplished musician for many years, crafting her work since she was 10. The guitar has been her escape from reality since she was a child.
On her website, she says, “I started playing guitar when I was around 10 years old after listening to Led Zeppelin in the car with my dad. Because I was a bit of an outcast, I had a lot of time to practice and this gave me an escape from reality, helped me overcome my anxieties, and gave me a sense of fulfillment.”
Due to her incredible guitar skills and hot looks, this star has managed to grow her following.
Lloyd took her passion for music and her guitar to launch a successful YouTube career with over 855,000 subscribers, where she shares many of her cover videos and personal songs.
The young metal star spends most of her time on Instagram documenting the tour and posts with MGK and others in the band.
She has also been interviewed several times, and in many of these interviews, she talks about how MGK slid into her DMs.
She also mentioned how incredible it is to work with Machine Gun Kelly and get to know many fans. In an interview with The Express, she mentioned, “The fans of MGK, you see a lot in the media about him, but my experience has been he’s so f**king awesome, he’s incredible, he’s caring, he’s so loving and passionate and his fans are exactly the same.”
The drama between Machine Gun Kelly and Fox started after MGK and Lloyd performed on stage at Sports Illustrated‘s The Party in Scottsdale, Arizona, on Super Bowl weekend.
Fox ignited the rumor after posting a video of her setting things ablaze during Super Bowl weekend, removing all pictures with him, unfollowing him and deactivating her account.
Fans quickly took to their socials to speculate and point fingers at Lloyd.
Lloyd hasn’t responded to the rumors herself but reunited with her boyfriend Christopher Painter on Valentine’s Day.
Painter took to Instagram to share a Valentine’s message, “Today marks a very special day. It was the day I asked you to be my partner in crime. And 5 years later that is still very accurate. Thank you for everything you do. Thank you for your thoughtfulness, kindness, generosity, care, silliness and your love. @sophieguitar_ You get me like no one else does and have been my rock for 5 solid years. Here’s to many more, partner. 🥂
Meanwhile, Fox and MGK spent Valentine’s mending their relationship after their argument in Arizona.
