Who Is Patrick Stewart's Wife Sunny Ozell?

Patrick Stewart married singer Sunny Ozell on Saturday in a ceremony officiated by X-Men co-star and frequent collaborator Ian McKellen.

The acclaimed actor, known for many as Captain Jean-Luc Picard from Star Trek: The Next Generation, is a household name already, but who is his new bride, Sunny Ozell?

Ozell, a 35-year-old singer-songwriter based in Brooklyn, is a regular in the Lower Manhattan music scene according to her website.

Ozell grew up in Nevada and trained as a singer, eventually moving to New York, where she worked as a waitress while developing her singing career. It was during her time working as a server at Franny’s, a Manhattan restaurant, that she met now husband, Stewart.

“We met there. That’s as far as it goes,” Stewart said in an interview with Grubstreet.

Stewart was in town performing in the Brooklyn Academy of Music production of Macbeth in 2008 and the two have been together ever since.

This is Stewart’s third marriage, he was previously married to Sheila Falconer from 1966 to 1990 and Wendy Neuss from 2000 to 2003 – both ended in divorce.

Stewart and Ozell were married in California over the weekend in front of 100 guests.

“Sir Patrick Stewart and Sunny Ozell were married on Saturday afternoon, September 7, beside Lake Tahoe in front of approximately 100 guests, including family and friends. The bride wore a white French lace dress by English designer Temperley London,” Stewart’s rep announced.

Sir Ian McKellen confirmed the news of the ceremony on Sunday with a post to his official Facebook page. McKellen posted a photo of himself with a t-shirt that says “Minister” across his chest with the caption, “I did my part.”
