Katy Perry fueled rumors she was romancing DJ Diplo after the two were spotted attending the New York City premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 on Thursday, April 24, but who is the pop singer's newest beau?

Katy Perry Dating DJ Diplo

Perry, who recently ended her turbulent relationship with known player John Mayer, was first spotted getting cozy with Diplo while attending Coachella. The two were reportedly caught making out at the outdoor festival and Perry, 29, and Diplo, 35, were described as being very affectionate.

“They were stealing kisses at first. As the night progressed, there was a lot of touching,” a source told Us Weekly.

On Thursday, the cute pair had dinner together before heading over to the Spider-Man 2 premiere after party, where they were photographed laughing with BJ Novak, who stars in the film.

“Diplo and Katy were super affectionate. It’s a really fun relationship for them both, easy and casual,” said a source.

Who Is DJ Diplo?

Diplo, whose real name is Wesley Pentz, is an American producer whose career took off in 2004. It was then that he began working with M.I.A., producing her mixtape Piracy Funds Terrorism – the two reportedly dated for five years during this time. Three years later he and M.I.A. created a hit with “Paper Planes,” and Diplo has been in high demand ever since. Diplo has worked with Missy Elliot, Britney Spears, Usher and even Justin Bieber. The multi-talented musician also heads his own record label, Mad Decent, and helped found Heaps Decent, a charity with the initial goal of helping children in Australia. He is one of the highest paid DJs in the world, and reportedly earned $13 million in 2012.

Diplo leads a hectic lifestyle, traveling from gig to gig. He resides in Los Angeles, but spends very little time there. Diplo is also a father. He has a four year-old-son named Lockett, who lives in his Los Angeles home with his mother, Kathryn, though the two are not together. In a 2012 interview with Rolling Stone, Diplo admitted that he and Kathryn were together, but also not. When asked about the nature of their relationship, perhaps whether or not it was monogamous or not, Diplo responded, “Um, I don’t know. I don’t really want to talk about that because it’s too personal. But sometimes, I hang out with other girls, I guess. Like at the club in Vegas, there’ll be, like, local girls there.”

Neither Perry nor Diplo have commented on rumors of a romantic relationship.
