The White House is currently undergoing major renovations while Donald Trump spends 17 days away at his Bedminster, New Jersey, golf resort.

WHITE HOUSE UNDERGOES RENOVATIONS

Just an hour after Air Force One took off, the West Wing of the White House was cleared of all furniture and staff to make room for construction crews. These renovations, which were approved during President Barak Obama‘s administration, will see an overhaul of the HVAC system, plus upgrades to the IT systems, mess hall, and outdoor areas. The South Portico will also be redone for the first time in 65 years.

According to CNN, the White House has had issues with ceiling leaks and fly infestations. A video of Obama killing a house fly went viral in 2009.

During this time, which should only last about three weeks, or as long as Trump is gone, White House staffers will take up office residence in the Eisenhower Executive Building next door. According to one source, Trump recently called the White House “a real dump.” Trump took to Twitter to dispel that rumor. “I love the White House, one of the most beautiful buildings (homes) I have ever seen. But Fake News said I called it a dump – TOTALLY UNTRUE,” the tweet read.
