When We Were Young Festival: Everything You Need To Know About This Pop Up Festival

A hot topic among concert and festival-goers is the new When We Were Young Festival, scheduled to be held at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds in late October 2022. This festival, which was announced just two weeks ago on Instagram and Twitter, has grown to almost 350,000 followers and has been quickly spread all over the internet for its very high-profile and heavily anticipated lineup of artists and bands including headliners Paramore and My Chemical Romance. Other stand-out performers that have everyone buzzing include Avril Lavigne, The All American Rejects, Bring Me The Horizon, Jimmy Eat World, Boys Like Girls, A Day To Remember, Pierce The Veil, and many more on the 60+ lineup of musical acts.

They recently added a third day of the festival which is scheduled to be open for presale on Monday at 10 a.m. PST. The festival dates are October 22, 23 and 29. Each day of the festival is individual and will have the exact same lineup, varying by only an artist or two from the first weekend and the second weekend, shown below:

Ticket prices for this one-day festival start north of $200 per ticket for general admission and double that for GA+ and VIP tickets. Compared to a one-day or three-day GA Pass to another festival like The Governor’s Ball, this price tag is pretty high. The event, hosted by Live Nation, will run the majority of the day from, 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. All ticket sales are final and there is both a layaway plan for easier affordability as well as a waitlist for anyone who is unable to get tickets off the first on-sale.

There are a lot of people speculating about this festival, despite all the artists in the lineup verifying its legitimacy by posting about it on social media.

Another concern by music fans everywhere is the host of this festival, Live Nation, was the same host for the tragedy of the Astroworld Festival that resulted in eight deaths and hundreds injured after the poorly organized and savage event. This speculation has many worried that if the When We Were Young Fest does deliver all it promises to fans, it could come at a price that could potentially be dangerous if not organized properly. Live Nation has protocols in place on the website, discussing safety, security and Covid-19 health policies in place for the festival in October.

After Astroworld, Live Nation is looking to redeem themselves with When We Were Young Fest. If everything goes according to plans, this festival will go down in history as one of the most iconic and show-stopping lineups to date for emo and pop-punk fans everywhere.
