Wendy Williams Cancels Public Appearances Due to Health Concerns

Television talk show host Wendy Williams has canceled all upcoming public appearances due to health concerns.

A statement was released on her Instagram page Thursday, announcing the cancellation.

“Wendy is dealing with some ongoing health issues and is undergoing further evaluations,” the statement read. “She will not be able to complete her promotional activities next week, but can’t wait to be back in her purple chair Monday, September 20th for the 13th season premiere.”

The post has garnered almost 60,000 likes, and has many comments wishing her well.

Williams was scheduled to appear on The View next Monday to promote the show.

This isn’t the first time Williams has taken time off work due to her health. Last May, the star took time off her talk show due to her Graves’ disease.

The star first went public about her diagnosis in 2018, when she took a three week hiatus due to health concerns. Williams was adamant about telling the women in her audience to be conscious of their health.

“What I want to say to women, more than men, is stop putting everyone first because if we’re not good, they’re not good,” she said.

The season 13 premiere of The Wendy Williams Show is set to air as scheduled on Sept. 20.
