WATCH: Zack Snyder Releases A Black & White Trailer For ‘Snyder Cut’ Of ‘Justice League’

Director Zack Snyder has shared a post on Twitter that showcases a new trailer for his version of Justice League in black and white. Despite the recent post, the new trailer that Snyder has released is really just an updated version of the first look that was originally shown at the DC Fandome event. The only new things that are new are a few extra details that were not seen in the original trailer and the fact that the color is completely removed.

During the video, the song that plays in the background is once again “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen. While most of the scenes in the trailer are the same, the slightly new footage includes an extra shot of the Justice League watching a hologram of Superman (Henry Cavill), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) staring at a group of teenagers playing football through a window, and a brief shot of the villain Darkseid (Ray Porter) and his henchmen the Female Furies in a barren wasteland-like of area. Aside from those small additions, not much has changed. In addition to Snyder’s updated trailer, an image with a newer design of the original antagonist from the 2017 version Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds) was also released to the public. This design features shinier armor with numerous spikes surrounding the costume. The helmet is also tighter on the character’s head, and the skin is much lighter compared to the previous design. Fans were not impressed by the villain’s new appearance and did not consider it an improvement over the first design, which was already panned by critics and audiences alike. Special criticism was reserved for the helmet, which people were quick to make fun of on Twitter.

Even though some people are not completely convinced that The Snyder Cut will be an improvement over the original Justice League, hopefully Snyder can pull it off and give a version that DC fans truly deserve. Zack Snyder’s Justice League will be released sometime in 2021 on the streaming service HBO Max.
