Watch The 86th Academy Awards Nominations Live Stream Here
Oscar nominations for the 86th Annual Academy Awards will be announced Thursday, Jan. 16 during a live broadcast from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, Calif.
The press conference to announce this year’s nominees will begin at 5:38 a.m. PT/8:38 a.m. ET, and will be live streamed in the video box below and on the Oscars official website. The press conference will also be shown on various news networks, including Good Morning America on ABC.
Chris Hemsworth will announce the nominees alongside Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs. Hemsworth, star of this year’s Golden Globe nominated film Rush and better known for his work as Thor (Thor: The Dark World), is a fitting choice to announce this year’s nominees. The Academy recently announced that the theme of the 2014 Oscars is Movie Heroes. The theme will include all kinds of heroes, from the non-super to the super.
Academy workers begin working Wednesday night to prepare the hall for the media and receive the nominations list, which they are absolutely prohibited from sharing with anybody in the outside world before the nominations are announced.
Will 12 Years A Slave lead the pack with the most nominees? Will The Butler be snubbed by yet another award show? And, finally, will James Franco get the Oscar nomination he so desires for his role in Spring Breakers? Check back here tomorrow morning to watch the live stream and find out.
The 86th Oscars, hosted for the second time by Ellen DeGeneres, will air Sunday, March 2, 2014 live on ABC at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT.
