The ACM Awards took place Wednesday night in Nashville and, for the first time in seven years, Taylor Swift graced the stage. The star performed the hit song “Betty” off her chart-topping album Folklore.
Although the 30-year-old singer-songwriter made her transition from out of country music and into pop almost seven years ago, she easily slipped back to her country roots. Swift performed the song with her black guitar in tow. She also changed the lyrics to be TV-friendly, switching out the line “would you tell me to go f— myself” with “would you tell me to go straight to hell.”
Her performance marked the first time “Betty” was performed live. It was definitely a fitting song for the night – “Betty” is a guitar and harmonica driven song that perfectly fits the country genre.
Swift also made headlines for doing her own hair, makeup and styling for the night. The star was dressed head-to-toe in Stella McCartney, pairing a sparkling burgundy turtleneck with beige trousers and black heels. She completed the look with some natural makeup and her hair tied into a low bun.
