Masterpiece Classics' Downton Abbey recently revealed that it will match Dame Maggie Smith with living legend Shirley MacLaine, who was also recently honored by Downton costar Elizabeth McGovern at American Film Institute's Shirley MacLaine Tribute.
"Oh dear, I'm afraid the war has made old women of us both," says MacLaine, who plays the American mother of Lady Grantham (McGovern) in the clip. MacLaine's character, of course, is destined to get on poorly with the Countess of Grantham, played by Smith. "Oh, I wouldn't say that," Smith as the Countess responds to MacLaine's quip. "But I always stay out of the sun."
